Hurtled to 60 – The Retirement Years
A garden must combine the poetic and the mysterious with a feeling of serenity and joy – Luis Barragan
What beautiful colours! We are having moderate success with two dahlias; I think I will follow your course of action and leave the tubers in the ground over winter.
The yellow ones are from a box of tubers my boss gave me. He said they were taking over his garden but couldn’t remember the variety. They certainly do seem tough.
Dahlias are such a great fall tradition; love the photos.
Thank you for Charlie your comment and being such a regular visitor to my blog. 😄
Your dahlias are beautiful. My mother grew them, farther north. They do not do so well for me.
They are lovely and a surprise too as I didn’t dig up the tubers. Perhaps because it wasn’t so cold last winter the frost didn’t get to them.
