Hurtled to 60 – The Retirement Years
A garden must combine the poetic and the mysterious with a feeling of serenity and joy – Luis Barragan
Beautiful tulips! What a gorgeous colour
Thank you I have been told they are probably tulips Cummins
They’ve crept too close to a shredder.
Looks like it doesn’t it! I think they are pretty enough to get away with it. Never had much luck growing tulips – these were in Guernsey
Gorgeous! I have seen these in the catalogs but never tried them. After seeing your photo, I may give them a try next year.
Hi SageButterfly, they certainly are different.
Ronnie they are beautiful, do you know what they are called please? Frances
I wish I knew Frances. They were in Candie Gardens, in St Peter Port Guernsey. I have even tried to google frilly purple tulips but not to much success. I may just email the gardens themselves. Will let you know if I have a response.
I asked on Twitter and someone has said it is probably Tulipa Cummins. I looked it up on the Crocus website http://www.crocus.co.uk/plants/_/bulbs/tulips/tulipa-cummins/classid.2000010951/ Looks as though that is it.
thanks Ronnie, my autumn bulb list is grrrowing ………… Frances
